The Dawson County Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team defeated Clear Creek Middle School, 33-25, last week.

Head Coach Jonathan Tinsley's Tigers never trailed in the Dec. 8 ballgame, after taking a slim 9-5 first quarter lead.

The Tigers extended that advantage to 20-8 by halftime.

Dawson came out after halftime and outscored the Bobcats to take a 29-14 advantage after three quarters.

Conor Woodbury led a balanced Tigers attack with 8 points.

Also scoring for Dawson County were: Brody Chester - 7 points, Jeff Drew - 7 points, Tyler Palmer - 6 points, Dylan Bramblett - 3 points and Brandon Monkus - 2 points.

"We controlled the glass and played really good," Tinsley said.

The Tigers traveled Monday to compete against Jasper Middle in the team's last game before Christmas break. Results of that game were not available as of press time.
