Head coach Jonathan Tinsley's eighth grade boys basketball team at Dawson County Middle lost a close 41-35 match-up against Fannin County last week at home.
The Jan. 19 game was close throughout with the visiting Rebels.
The Tigers took an early 13-10 lead, but Fannin rallied in the second quarter to take a 2-point advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Dawson rebounded in the third quarter and outscored Fannin 9-5 to retake the lead, 28-26.
Fannin exploded offensively in the final quarter and scored 15 points, while Dawson managed only 7 points to come away with the 6 point win.
Dawson's Dylan Bramblett had a big afternoon on offense for the Tigers. Bramblett led the game with 15 points.
Tigers scorers: Bramblett-15 points, Brody Chester-8 points, Tyler Palmer-7 points, Conor Woodbury-3 points and Cole Mulberry-2 points.
The Tigers will be back in action at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at home against Jasper Middle.
