Riverview Middle School will finish up its spring football practice with a Royal and White scrimmage game at 5:30 p.m.  May 20 at the school.

Admission will be $3 for adults and $2 for children.

“Spring football is going very well,” said Head Coach Mark Thomason. “We have a very smart group this year and we already feel that we are further along this year then we were last year.”

The Eagles have around 50 players participating in spring drills, made up of both rising seventh and eighth grade classes.

Thomason has been getting an idea about next year’s team with practices over the last two weeks.

“The thing that I am enjoying about spring right now is all of the position battles we have going on right now. We have kids working hard trying to earn a position, so it has made for some good practices so far,” he said.

“Our expectation for spring is to get kids excited for summer workouts and the upcoming season, while teaching them the base plays,” he added.
