The Dawson County Middle School wrestling team will open the season this Friday with a home match against Gladden Middle School.

The match will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Head Coach Thomy Edwards said: “I expect my team to work hard and do their best. Justin Evans and Kyle Hayes are my outstanding wrestlers so far. They both wrestled for me last year and I expect a lot of good things out of them.”

This year’s wrestling team will be young, according to Edwards. Edwards said that the team has been stressing the fundamentals, so that they will be prepared when they reach high school.

There are more than 20 wrestlers on this year’s team.
