Both Lady Tiger teams at DCMS advance

Both the seventh and eighth grade girls ‘basketball teams from Dawson County Middle School advanced to the semi-finals of the Mountain League Tournament at Pickens County Middle School.


Head Coach Tina Brown and her seventh grade girls won convincingly 37-20 over Clear Creek. The Lady Tigers played Jasper yesterday at Pickens County Middle School. Scores were unavailable at press time.

 

Madison Shope led all Lady Tiger scorers with 13 points. Also scoring for Dawson were: Brooke Duffy-8; Hannah Moye-4; Emily Chester-4; Emily Ayers-4; Caroline Lee-2 and Alison Honea-2.

 

The undefeated eighth grade girls continue to roll, after handing their cross-county neighbors, Riverview Middle School, a 42-5 defeat last Saturday.

 

All 12 players on the Dawson County Middle School roster scored during the contest. The loss ended Riverview’s season at 0-15.

 

The Lady Tigers moved their record to 15-0.

 

The Lady Tigers will played Fannin County Middle School today.

 

Sammie Smith and Kenna Seitz led all scorers with 6 points. Also scoring were: Hannah Porter, Gracie Hovan, Carly Gilreath, Whitney Glover, Bethany Auten all with 4 points. Libby Redmon, Jade Perry, Kacie Bearden, Natalie Burt, and Allie Costely scored 2 points each in the win.
