The seventh grade Tigers basketball team at Dawson County Middle School defeated Pickens Middle 32-12, last week in Dawsonville.

The Tigers were led in scoring in the Jan. 12 game by Austin Young. He contributed 9 points.

Coach Steven Moates' team has an overall record of 4-3.

"I'm real happy with the improvements over the past couple of weeks," Moates said. "We need to carry the momentum of our past two wins into the final games of the season and into the tournament."

Tigers scorers: Young - 9 points, Parker Cantrell - 8 points, Hunter LeBaron - 5 points, Sawyer Smith - 4 points, Joseph Cronan - 2 points, Colin Glover - 2 points and Kolton Brumbelow - 2 points.

The team will be back in action at 4 p.m. against Fannin County on Thursday at home.
