During the first round of the Class AAA state tournament, the Dawson County Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead over the Lovett Lady Lions and would not relinquish it on their way to the Sweet 16. Dawson won at home 72-61. The win earned the team a spot in the next round where they will face Monroe High School, the top team in Region 8.
