The Lady Tiger track team had a strong showing last week with the girls relay team setting a school record in their win.
The girls' 4x800-meter relay team finished first and achieved a school record with a time of 10 minutes 26 seconds. This year's team consists of Marley Hamby, Faith Sinclair, Melanie Rimawi and Bailey Cotter.
Dawson County competed at home against Forsyth Central and East Hall on March 29 where multiple athletes achieved personal records in their events according to Coach Arron Haynes.
The team finished second overall among the three teams competing.
"We still had about 50 percent of our athletes get personal records, so we just keep on improving," Haynes said.
Sinclair also took first in the 800 at 2.47. Junior Nicole Chumbley took second in the 800 with a time of 2.50.
In the 1600, Rimawi took first at 6.03.
