Lady Tiger volleyball hosts home events

Dawson County varsity and junior varsity volleyball will host an "elementary night" this week as the teams face Pickens County and Central Gwinnett in a home tri-match.

All elementary-aged students who bring their school agenda to the Sept. 8 event will get in free.

On Sept. 13, Dawson County will host a Dawson County Middle School and Dawson County Junior High School night when the two squads play their first region matches against Fannin County and East Hall at home.

Middle school and junior high school students who bring their agendas will get free admission that day.

Last week the varsity Lady Tigers traveled to Rabun County for a tri-match with Rabun and White County.

Though they did not win a match, the Lady Tigers played close sets with the Lady Wildcats losing 25-21 in the first and 25-23 in the second.

Against White County, the team finished with a 25-13 loss and 25-19 loss. The losses take the varsity team to 0-12.

The junior varsity team did not play last week, but currently has a 5-3 record.

Junior varsity and varsity teams played Sept. 6 at North Forsyth against North Forsyth and West Hall in a tri-match, but results were not available as of press time.

Both teams will play against Pickens and Central Gwinnett at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow at home.
