Dawson County sports to host two Alumni games in October

Mark your calendars for October 18 and 19 as two Dawson County sports team, working independently of each other, have announced that they will be hosting alumni games to honor players both past and present.

Newly installed basketball head coach Eric Herrick announced via Twitter that the Dawson County basketball program will be organizing their inaugural alumni game for the evening of Oct. 18 with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

There is a 15-dollar fee to cover the cost of t-shirts, and the team will provide all necessary equipment along with a team trainer.

The following day, Oct. 19 will feature the Dawson County baseball team as they also host their inaugural alumni game, starting the action with a home run contest at 5:30 p.m. followed by the first pitch of the game itself at 7:00p.m.

Entry into the home run contest will cost ten dollars and participation in the game itself will be 20-dollars. Each player will receive a commemorative alumni t-shirt.

Bats and helmets will be provided by the team, but players are expected to furnish their own gloves.

Both games are open to male and female alumni and any remaining proceeds after covering the cost of the games will go towards the team’s booster programs.
