Former Dawson County Lady Tiger golfer Kasay Holbrook had a great junior year at Presbyterian College last season. A 2008 Dawson County High School graduate, Holbrook has set or broke several Blue Hose records during her 3-year career at the Clinton, S.C. school.

Holbrook played in 10 tournaments this past season for Head Coach Thomas Addison.

She recorded a first round of 70 to set a school record for lowest round and marked the first time a Blue Hose women's golfer finished below par (-2).

Holbrook also set a school record with a tie for seventh at the Sea Trails Intercollegiate, while also setting the school record for three rounds at 227 (78, 75, 74).

The upcoming Presbyterian senior also shot 235 (81, 79, 75) at the 2011 Big South Conference Women's Championship to lead the team at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.

Holbrook would have finished tied for 11th overall, which is the highest finish in program history. However, Presbyterian College was competing on an "invitation only" basis and will not be eligible to win the conference tournament for another season.

On June 28-29, Holbrook competed in the 30th Georgia Top 60 Women's Classic at the Brickyard at Riverside in Macon.

Holbrook tied for 22nd place overall with scores of 78-81, 159. The tournament was open to female amateur golfers who are members of the Georgia State Golf Association.

The field was determined by handicap index with the 60 lowest handicaps receiving positions in the field. Holbrook's handicap is 2.

On July 6-7, Holbrook played in the Georgia Women's Open - LPGA - at Summer Grove Golf Club in Newnan and won the Championship B flight with scores of 77-78, for the two day tournament. The finish was good enough for a 17th overall finish.

In high school, Holbrook played golf for coach Shari Chastain. She was a three time region winner and a two time runner-up in the state championship. Holbrook also led her high school team to two region titles and two runner-up finishes.

Holbrook is the daughter of Katrina and Keith Holbrook.

Holbrook is majoring in business administration management, while minoring in physical education and athletic coaching.

Last week, Holbrook served on the volunteer team at the 93rd PGA Championship, Aug. 8-14 at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek.
