Marlie Townley, a senior basketball player at Dawson County High School, has been named to the 2019-2020 Class 3A North All-State team by the Georgia Coaches Association (GACA).
During her time with the Lady Tigers, Townley averaged 13.1 points per game, 11 rebounds per game along with two steals and two assists per game.
“She is a strong, tough inside player who loves to rebound, block shots, and score,” said Steve Sweat, head coach of the Lady Tigers basketball team. “She has worked hard to make herself into good basketball player.”
Continuing her season of accolades, Townley had already been nominated to the Class 7-3A All-Region Team along with being selected for the North Georgia All-Star team.
Townley has yet to choose where she will be continuing her basketball career, but Sweat said she will be visiting Berry College, Young Harris College and Reinhardt University.
“I expect we will see Marlie continue to do great things in her future on and off the basketball court because that is the kind of person she is,” Sweat said.
