The Dawson County High School Junior Varsity softball team continued its winning ways with a 7-0 defeat of East Jackson High School last Thursday.

With the win, Dawson is currently 4-0 on the season.

“We played a great game,” said Head Coach Nickie Rogers. “I think that we were errorless. We had timely hits and were aggressive base running.”

Carly Kunkel pitched a shutout for the Lady Tigers.

Offensively, Dawson was led by Taylor Shirley with a triple, Megan Matthews and Kenna Seitz both contributed with doubles.

Rogers remarked: “It was an all-around team effort.”

The team will play at North Oconee Thursday and host Oglethorpe County next Tuesday.

Both games will begin at 4:30 p.m.
