The Tiger football team is working out in preparation for next season.

Head Coach Jeff Lee will return a wealth of talent from last year's 6-5 Class AAA state playoff team.

Official practice will begin July 25 for the Tigers. In the meantime Dawson County has several workouts and camps scheduled.

Fifteen offensive linemen are taking part in the Mike Hodges Offensive Linemen camp at Middle Georgia College through today.

There are several senior Tigers that are going to one-day individual camps on various college campuses throughout the South.

Quarterback Zach Buchan will attend the University of Georgia Junior Day this month. Buchan will also take part in the UGA quarterback camp and the Manning Passing Academy this summer.

The skill players will play in a seven-on-seven passing tournament hosted by Sequoyah High School in Canton on June 22.

Lee's team will once again make its annual trek to Presbyterian College July 8-10 for all the skill players. The Tigers play every year at the passing camp against some of the best teams from around the Southeast.

Dawson County will also be holding workouts on the following dates in June: 13, 17, 18, 20, 24, 25 and 27. These workouts will be from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Workouts will continue at the same times on July 8-11, 15-18, 22-24.

"It is a very busy time for our players," Lee said. "These camps and workouts are important for our player development for next season."

The season is less than two months away.
