The 2011 Dawson County High School softball program was recognized at an awards ceremony last week.

Athletic Director Grady Turner opened the Nov. 8 banquet welcoming players, coaches, families and guests.

After the invocation by Assistant Coach Mark Ragsdale, everyone sat down to dinner.

The Softball Booster Club showed a video presentation of the season. The Lady Tigers finished the season with a 21-11 record.

Head Coach Jimmy Pruett's team placed second in Region 8-AA and qualified for the AA State Playoffs.

Junior varsity coach Nickie Rogers presented certificates to her players after the video.

Pruett honored his four seniors: Morgan Huber, Kristi Hyams, Anna Torres and Kimberly Wallace, by giving them senior awards.

Receiving either a junior varsity or varsity certificate were: Juniors; Jenna Abbott, Natalie Burt, Carly Gilreath, Gracie Hovan, Becca Monkus, Samantha Moulder, Taylor Shirley and Taylor Willoughby; Sophomores; Heather Hensley, Brittany Phillips, Taylor Pruitt and Martie Rogers; Freshmen; Emma Daniel, Samantha Keeney, Anela Melton, Hannah McConnell and Brooke Wende.
