Head coach Justin Rickett and the Dawson County softball team played a scrimmage game at South Forsyth on Wednesday, July 20, in preparation for the upcoming regular season.
With a new-look roster and plenty of youth on the roster, the Lady Tigers had a chance to assess their summer progress against a quality program.
Starting on the mound was senior Reese Moore, who showed solid speed early in the game. She is set to be a reliable starter throughout the season.
Many of the younger players were also given opportunities on the field and at the plate, reflecting the preparation needed for the regular season.
During the game, a variety of players showed good contact with the ball and plate discipline.
Before the season officially starts on Saturday, Aug. 6, the Lady Tigers will play a scheduled scrimmage game against Forsyth Central on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
