Lady Tiger Heather Brady went 2-for-2 at the plate but it wasn't enough as Dawson County fell, 9-1, to Union County last Wednesday, Aug. 6 in Blairsville.

"This game gave our players some varsity level experience, which will help us when we begin play this week," Head Coach Jimmy Pruett said.

The final score was misleading with Dawson County up 1-0 after four innings of play. Pruett then substituted his backup players, while the Lady Panthers kept their first group in the game.

The teams only played six innings. The seventh inning was a chance for each team to work on the International tie-breaker.

"By subbing everybody it gave me a chance to look at all the players and evaluate them," said Pruett.

Dawson County scored their only run in the fourth inning. Senior Joy Lewis led off and reached third on an error by the Union left fielder. Tabitha Morrison then singled picking up the RBI.

Lewis also pitched a masterful game going four innings and only giving up one hit.
