Dawson County got to off to a quick 9-0 lead after one quarter behind the offensive play of freshman Emma Brown.

Brown had a game-high 14 points in the contest.

The Lady Tigers continued the pressure in the next seven minutes and took a 20-3 advantage into halftime.

"We played well in the first half, but we let West Hall back into the game in the third quarter," Hyams said.

The Lady Spartans outscored Dawson 12-4 in the third quarter to cut the lead to 24-15.

"We did not shoot very well in the third quarter and West Hall had a hot streak," Hyams said. "The girls kept playing hard and finished strong in the fourth quarter."

Also scoring for Dawson were Kati Brady and Gabby Buchan with seven points each, Calli Watson added five points, Marley Hamby scored four points and Ashley Stanfill had one point.

The Lady Tigers are currently 7-2 overall.
