Freshmen team improves to 2-0

The Dawson County High School freshmen boys' team is currently 2-0 after picking up wins over Pickens County, 38-36 on Nov. 18 and Chestatee, 33-26, on Dec. 1.

In the matchup against Pickens, Ryan Gallenkamp tipped in a shot at the buzzer to lead the Tigers to victory.

Dawson County was led in scoring by Jeremiah Crumley with 20 points.

Also in the scoring column were: Connor Bearden with six points; Gallenkamp with five points; Nathan Sorrells added three points and Ethan Clark and Jake Moore scored two points each.

The game against Chestatee High School was tied 13-13 at halftime, but Dawson County used a 14-5 fourth quarter run to take a seven point victory.

The Tigers were led by Coey Watson with 16 points and Clark with 15 points. Also scoring for the Tigers was Mathew Mayfield with two points.
