3 named first team all-region

Three Dawson County Lady Tigers were selected to the Region 7-AAA All-Region team last week. The players were voted on by coaches in the region.

Named to the first team were: freshman Tina Libao, sophomore Anna Hawkins and senior Kenna Seitz.

Player of the year was junior Ceely Coker from Buford.

Coach of the year was Buford coach Crystal Fowler.

Joining the three Lady Tigers on the first team were: Ann Schmidt of Buford, Elexa Bahr of Buford, Sage Kafsky of Fannin, Sarah Hollifield of North Hall, Alden Powell of North Hall, Gabrielle Ligas of West Hall, Savannah Castles of White County, Savanna Magill of White County and Sarah Abad of White County.

Named to the all-region second team were sophomore Lady Tigers McKay Shively and Taylor Bennett.

Also on the second team: McKenzie Simpson of Banks County, Jesse Vaverka of Buford, Brooke Horist of Buford, Bre Smith of Buford, Amanda Torres of East Hall, Hope Cochran of Fannin, Katie Estrada of North Hall, Alyssa Hall of West Hall, Kristen Newstrom of West Hall and Jenna Gearing of White County.

In the final Class AAA soccer rankings Dawson County finished No. 6 with a 13-4 record.

State champions, St. Pius, took the No. 1 ranking.
