Former local standout leads Presbyterian College

Former Dawson County Lady Tiger Kasay Holbrook led Division I Presbyterian College to a 8th place finish in the Big South Conference tournament April 15 in Ninety-Six, S.C.

The team was unable to qualify for further tournament play since it was their first year as a D-I school.

Holbrook shot a team low 78 on the final day to take a 22nd individual finish. She shot a 86 and 83 on the first two days for a total of 247. This was the fourth time this season that Holbrook has led the Blue Hose.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers captured the Big South title. Coastal Carolina’s Aruka Felgueroso won low medalist with a score of 218.

Holbrook was on fire entering the conference tournament. She led her team the previous three weeks leading up to the tournament. At the Draper

Intercollegiate Tournament in Draper, Va., Holbrook led all Presbyterian golfers, shooting a 154 to finish 23rd overall.

The team picked up its first win by finishing first at the Falcon Invitational in New London, N.C. Holbrook led the team with a 2nd place overall score of 76.

At Charleston-Southern, Holbrook placed 17th overall with a score of 165, to led her team to a 7th place finish.

Holbrook will be a sophomore next season for Coach Thomas Addison’s team.
