It was a day of firsts for Chase Elliott as he snagged his first checkered flag of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series GEICO 500 on April 28 at the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.

 Elliott started the race from the eleventh position and was competitive all day as he maneuvered through the field to lead a race high 44 laps and captured his first stage win of the year with a stage two victory.

 The win also marked the first win of the year for Hendricks Motorsports, and the first win for Chevrolet since Oct 2018.
