The Dawson County High School Lady Tigers softball team is gearing up for the fall season with a series of events to promote the team and raise funds for the year.

The team will host a summer camp for girls who are ready to learn the fundamentals and further develop their softball skills on July 24-26.

The camp is open to girls from kindergarten through eighth grade and will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the DCHS softball field.

Each camper will be paired with a high school player who plays the same position.

Players will need to bring a snack and water bottle each day and be prepared to have fun with the high school team.
Each camper will also receive a t-shirt.

On July 27, the team will play a scrimmage game at 6:30 p.m. and will host its second annual barbeque with meals sponsored by the Dawsonville Tavern.

Each plate will include a meat and two sides plus a dessert. Meals are $8 each. Meal tickets can be purchased from a softball player or Jenkins.

The meals can be picked up at the softball field from 4-7 p.m. on July 27.

Entrance to the scrimmage is $5 a person.

Registration for camp is $70 a player and checks can be made payable to the Lady Tigers Softball Booster Club and mailed to Sandy Jenkins, president of the booster club, at 112 Hillside Dr., Dawsonville GA 30534. For questions, contact Jenkins at (770) 519-2868.
