Dawsonville resident Jenna Abbott and her teammates on the Bandits 94 traveling fastpitch softball team will be traveling to Midland, Texas to participate in the ASA 14 and under division “A” national tournament later this week.

Jenna and her team won last year at the ASA Southern Nationals 12 and under Division “A” tournament in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Bandits 94 are a 14 and under fastpitch softball organization based out of Kennworth Park in north Cobb County.

The Georgia Eteamz fastpitch message board rated the team among the top 10 Division “A” teams in their age group during the preseason.

The Bandits 94 will be competing with some 90 teams from across the nation.

“This is such an honor to represent Georgia fastpitch. We have a strong team and great coaches,” said Jenna.

The team is coached by Greg Giles, Mike Blair and Leigh Steed.

Jenna is a rising eighth grader at Dawson County Middle School and will be playing for coach Karen Spencer on the school’s team this fall.
