William "Shorty" Strayhorn, 84, of Cumming, died Jan. 27, 2015.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Cumming.

His daughter, Annie L. Bragg; parents, Tate and Gennie Strayhorn; brothers, Herman, Tom, Eugene, Myron and his twin, Woodrow; sisters, Leila Shumate, Lucille Wehunt and Hazel Melton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, William and Susan Strayhorn of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry Mooney of Gainesville; sister, Willy Mae Charles of Cumming; grandchildren, Darryl Strayhorn, Greg Strayhorn, Tony Kirby, Jason Kirby, Vickie Hamby; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 30 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Varney Johns, Darryl Strayhorn and Jeff Shumate officiating.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
