William Dean Hulsey

SMSgt. William "Dean" Hulsey, U.S.A.F. (Ret.), 88, of Dawsonville died Sept. 11, 2014.

Born September 7, 1926 to the late Jess and Alma Hulsey, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

A World War II and Cold War veteran, Mr. Hulsey retired as a Senior Master Sergeant (E8) from the U.S. Air Force after serving for over 21 years.

After his military service he also worked for the Georgia Department of Revenue and the Dawson County Board of Education.

A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include are his wife of 63 years, Mary Hulsey of Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Dan and Judith Hulsey of Virginia; grandchildren, Sarah Hulsey, Geoffrey and Flavia Hulsey; great grandson, Drake; a number of nieces and nephews" various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sept. 16, 2014, at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Gerrells officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
