Wiley Mezick, 64, of Dawsonville, died May 16, 2013.

Born Aug. 4, 1948 in LaGrange, to the late Jack and Christine Mezick, he had lived in Dawson County for more than 37 years, having moved from Austell.

A retired farmer, he was employed by Tatum Farms for many years, as well as farmed for himself. He was an ordained minister and deacon of Grace and Truth Church.

His wife of 35 years, Martha Mezick, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Christy Fraley, Kelly Mezick, both of Dawsonville; stepchildren, Carl Ramey, Linda Layson, Ernie Ramey, Mark Ramey; sister, Linda Smith of LaGrange; brothers, Jimmy Mezick, Steve Mezick, both of LaGrange, James Mezick of Lithia Springs; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 18 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Manders and Linda Manders officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
