Wayne Cabbage Chester

Wayne "Cabbage" Chester, 62, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 2, 2012.

Born April 1, 1950, to the late Earl and Inell Chester, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Mr. Chester was a self-employed auto mechanic and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

His brother, Dennis Chester, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Denise and Billy Wehunt of Dawsonville, Jon Chester of Cumming; grandchildren, Heather Edwards, Hunter Wehunt; great-granddaughter, Calli Edwards; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Anderson, Teresa and Tim Parton, Connie and Ronnie Sosebee, Anne Martin, all of Dawsonville, Shirley and Gary Bruce of Hoschton, Melba and Jerrell Fricks of Dahlonega; brothers and sister-in-law, James and Jimmie Ann Chester, Norman Chester, Bennie Chester, David Chester, Marty Chester, all of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Sosebee and Jimmy Chester officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
