Warren Lamont “Monty” Errickson, 60, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 25, 2018.
He was born Dec. 20, 1957 in Kansas City, Mo. to Rev. James H. and Doris Errickson. Formerly of Zephyrhills, Fla. Monty was a 1976 graduate of Zephyrhills High School who loved music and served as drum major for the marching band. He went on to obtain an M.B.A.
Monty served for 30 years with Zephyrhills Fire Rescue from which he retired in 2011 having attained the rank of captain. He especially enjoyed teaching others about fire safety.
More recently, Monty was actively involved in North Georgia Church in Dawsonville and enjoyed woodworking. He was a good man who loved God, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He loved his wife and family – just enjoying time together.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie (Palmer); sons, Warren Christopher (Ashley) Errickson, of Tampa, Fla.; Brandyn Lamont (Angelique) Errickson, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; granddaughter, Adalynn Errickson; his parents, Rev. James H. (Doris) Errickson, of Largo, Fla.; sister, Theresa “Terry” (Russell) Seaver, of Largo, Fla.; niece, Amy Seaver; nephew, Eric Seaver; stepson, Kevin (Catherine) Palmer, of N.C.; stepdaughter, Sonja Palmer, of N.C.; step-granddaughter, Emerald Palmer; various other relatives also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at North Georgia Church at 74 Dill Lane in Dawsonville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Zephyrhills Fire Rescue Cadets or Zephyrhills Volunteer Fire Rescue.
