W. Frank Morgan Sr., 90, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 26, 2013.
Born April 23, 1922, in Dahlonega to the late Jefferson and Carrie Morgan, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 30 years having moved from Atlanta.
Mr. Morgan retired as a journeyman with the Iron Workers Local Union No. 387 after 32 years of service.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the European, Pacific and Far East theaters.
He was also a member of American Legion No. 136.
His son, William F. "Bill" Morgan Jr.; sister, Joyce Wills and a brother, Gordon Morgan, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Emily Morgan of Dawsonville; daughters and son-in-law, Harriett and Lamar Strickland of Marietta, Joan Whithead of Cartersville; sisters, Ann Franklin of Virginia, Vivian Champion of Calhoun; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Payne officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
