Virginia Shealy, 55, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 21, 2017.
Born Sept. 17, 1961, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.
Along with her husband, they formerly owned and operated V&S Lawncare.
Virginia possessed a great love for her horses and all animals.
She was a breeder of Yorkshire Terriers and placed them with deserving families. Virginia would open her home and care for those less fortunate.
She was a member of McKee’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Her mother, Alice Samples, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Stephen Shealy of Dawsonville; sons and daughter-in-law, Nathan Purdy, Patrick Shealy and Brittany Wallace, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Skylar Shealy, Charles Shealy; father, Ralph Samples of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Samples Clayton of Douglasville, Margaret and Larry Kollar of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jammye Samples of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 26 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating. Interment followed in the McKee’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to assist with final expenses.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
