Venitta M. Pruett, 91, of Dawsonville, died July 7, 2012.

Mrs. Pruett was born Jan. 1, 1921 in Dawson County to the late Hansel and Ila Mae Tinsley.

She lived in Atlanta for 30 years before returning to Dawson County.

She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Her husband, Edward Pruett; daughter, Doris Christine Pruett; son, Jay Pruett; grandsons, Chris Pruett and Mike Pruett; sister, Inez Pope; and brothers, Hoyt Tinsley, Ward "Bud" Tinsley and Ernest Tinsley, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, James and Linda Pruett, Brenda Gee, Sharon Pruett, Gail and Alan Walker, all of Dawsonville, Faye Pruett of Tiger, Walter and Shelba Pruett of Marble Hill; sister, June Bates of Conyers; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 10 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Flowers and Sven Mossinger officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 505 Elliott Family Parkway, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
