Van Mize, 77, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

  

Born Aug. 5, 1932 in Tallapoosa, Ga. to the late George and Alma Mize, Mr. Mize lived in Dawson County for the past 30 years, having moved from Chamblee.

  

He worked all of his adult life in the construction industry and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

  

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Edna Mize of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Garry Van and Lynne Mize of Cumming, Larry Mize, Steven and LaVerne Mize, all of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Rodney Elrod of Tallapoosa; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Carrie Mize of Marietta; grandchildren, Brooke Duncan, Clint Mize, Jennifer Anderson, Melissa Mize, Stephanie Mize; great-grandchildren, Parker Duncan, Bayler Duncan, Nicole Fuller, Jada Valze and Presley Mize; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 1 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Reeves and Dr. Orin Sampson officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Gardens.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
