Van Keifer Skelton III
Obituaries

Van Keifer Skelton III, 63, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 6, 2017.


Born March 10, 1954 in Miami, Fla., to the late Van and Dorothy Skelton, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 21 years, having moved from Cobb County. Mr. Skelton enjoyed fishing, cooking, classic cars, gardening, was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.


Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Janice Skelton; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Miki Skelton; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Daniel Stahl; grandson, Charlie Skelton; sisters and brother-in-law, Lana Caplan, Vanetta and Robert Bennett; various other relatives also survive.


Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.


Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
