Rev. Tony B. Roughton, 70, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 10, 2013.

He was the pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for seven years and Moriah Baptist Church for two years.

Tony was the best man on earth, good hearted and considered everyone family. To him every day was Christmas.

Survivors include his wife, Verdell Roughton of Dawsonville; children, Rhonda Sharee and Doug Chadwick of Cumming, Tony Scott and Lisa Roughton of Clarksville, Tenn., Timothy Wayne and Deena Roughton, Pamela Michele and Jason Fairbanks, Ronald Lynn Roughton, all of Gainesville; sister, Betty Canon of Cusetta, Ala., Cynthia Ellis of Duluth; brothers, Wayne Roughton, Mike Roughton, both of Dadeville, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Jan. 13 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Cobb and Dick Peden officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
