Tommy Pinion, 81, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 17, 2012.

Born Aug. 11, 1931 to the late John and Ruby Pinion, he had been a resident of Dawsonville his entire life.

Mr. Pinion attended Winds of Peace and Mill Creek Baptist Church.

A proud union carpenter, he helped construct many high rise buildings in Atlanta.

He worked for J.A. Jones Construction and Flaglers Construction Company until his retirement.

His brother, Cliff Pinion, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annie Lou Pinion of Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Ralph Todd of Sandersville; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Penny Pinion of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Porter of Jonesboro, Louise Bradford, Eloise Bramblett, Edith Gee, Kathleen Goswick, all of Dawsonville, Susie and Harold McGahee of Marietta; grandchildren, Marlon and Susan Gibbs, Dewayne and Christy Pinion, Phillip Pinion, Christopher Pinion; three great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Panter and Tony Allison officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
