Timothy Lee "Tim" Whelchel, 47, of Cleveland, died May 26, 2011.

His grandparents, Lee and Nora Whelchel, Enoch and Mary Barrett; and his nephew, Bradley Hughes, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents, George and Bonnie (Barrett) Whelchel of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Ashley Whelchel of Cleveland; grandsons, Bryson Scott Whelchel of Cumming, Bradyn Timothy Lee Whelchel of Cleveland; granddaughter, Ashlyn Nicole Claxton of Cumming; sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela and Benny Sawyer, Rachel and Jerry Hughes, all of Cumming; nieces and nephews, Christy Spicer, Brent Sawyer, Brian Sawyer, Brannon Hughes, Tenicia Lee, Brittany Hughes; great-nieces and nephews, Chasity, Kyle, Brianna, Logan, Arissa, Christen, Mikaela, Trent and Sawyer; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. June 1 at the chapel in Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Jason Bailey and Rodney Allen officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
