Thomas P. Tommy Winters

Thomas P. "Tommy" Winters, 59, of Dahlonega, died April 23, 2013.

Born July 2, 1953, Mr. Winters was a native of Atlanta and had been living in Lumpkin County for the past 20 years.

Tommy was formerly employed as a printer, but had been employed by Wal-Mart in Dawsonville since its opening.

An avid camper and a champion at horseshoes, his father, Albert G. Winters Jr.; and stepfather, William Dennis Jackson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Winters Jackson of Gulfport, Fla.; sisters and brother-in-law, Deborah Winters Milligan of Atlanta, Peggy and Larry Rich of Dacula; brothers and sister-in-law, Albert G. Winters III of Douglasville, William and Leeann Winters of Beuche, La.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 27 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Lighthouse for the Blind, c/o Dawsonville Lions Club, P.O. Box 408, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
