Thomas P. “Tom” Brannon

Thomas P. “Tom” Brannon, 82, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 2, 2018.

Born Jan. 1, 1936 in Maryland to the late Paul D. and Nancy E. Brannon, he lived in Dawson County since 1986 having moved from Atlanta.  Mr. Brannon retired as Southern Regional Manager of the U.S. Federal Government Printing Office.  Tom was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a 65 year member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Tucker Shrine Club where he was a part of the motorcycle corps.  He enjoyed square dancing and classic cars.

 A son, Craig Brannon; and sister, Nancy June Bailey, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Darla Brannon of Duluth, Charles Brannon and his companion, Hattie Green, of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Tommy Brannon, Jasmine Brannon, Lilli Brannon, Eva Brannon, Emily Brannon, Melinda Crotzer, Charles Crowe, Chris Cox; and seven great –grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

His life was celebrated at the funeral home 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 10.

At his request, Mr. Brannon was cremated and his cremated remains will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean at a later date.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
