Thomas G. "Tom" Wilkinson, 66, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 2, 2014.

Born Oct. 20, 1947 in Hollis, Okla., he had lived in Dawson County for the past five years, having moved from Forsyth County.

Mr. Wilkinson retired from sales in the plastics industry after 40 years of service.

Tom was an avid golfer, sports fan and enjoyed reading.

His mother and stepfather, Bernice and John Roberts, and his sister, Aretha Speed, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Vickie Wilkinson of Dawsonville; son, Thomas Gregory "Tommy" Wilkinson of Kennesaw; brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Gerri Speed of Durant, Okla.; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 4 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Johnston officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to Gracepointe Community Church, Attn: Camp Kerusso, 8712 Timber Walk Cove, Gainesville, GA 30506.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
