Taylor Grant

Taylor Grant, 84, of Dawsonville died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at the Gold City Nursing Center following a period of declining health.

 

Born in Crisp County, he had lived in the Atlanta area and in Cumming before moving to Dawson County in 1984.

 

While in South Georgia, Mr. Grant worked in farming.

 

He was employed in a cotton mill in Atlanta and worked in the tannery in Buford until it burned, after which, he was employed by Lamar Sutteth, until he retired.

 

He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Mae Grant and parents, Egbert and Evie Grant.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Connie Wade of Cumming; sons, Donnie Grant, James Taylor Grant, both of Dawsonville, Thurmond Joseph Grant of Cartersville; grandchildren, Sonya Wade, Amy Wade, Bradley Grant and Tony Wade; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emory Samples officiating.

 

Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

 Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
