Tammy Townsend, 55, of Cumming, died June 11, 2015.

Born Dec. 1, 1959, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County.

Tammy was a graduate of Forsyth County High School and was employed by the Forsyth County Board of Education, where she worked at Haw Creek Elementary School.

She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and possessed a great love for family and life.

She was also loved by all who knew her. She loved animals, especially her companion, Coco.

Survivors include her parents, Tommy and Lula Townsend of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Lis and Danny Duff of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Melanie Townsend of Cumming; nieces and nephews, Dana and Brendan Murphy, Darren and Kim Duff; great-niece, Amy Duff; great-nephews, Terence Murphy, Connor Murphy; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. June 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Brody Hughes and Rodney Pilcher officiating. Interment followed in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
