Sue T. Gravitt, 78, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 1, 2011.

Born Sept. 9, 1933, in Forsyth County to the late Benjamin and Grace Turner, she had lived in Dawson County since 1987 after spending 30 years in Atlanta.

Mrs. Gravitt was formerly employed by Avon after which she worked many years for Rich's and Macy's.

After moving to Dawson County she earned a degree in cosmetology.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

Her husband, Eugene T. Gravitt; and a sister, Elizabeth Hamby, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Gail and Randy Sword, Todd and Nancy Gravitt, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Melissa Sword, Michael Sword, Kristen Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Leigha Gallagher, Cameron Phillips, Olivia Gallagher; sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Bill Styles of Dawsonville; brother, Bobby Turner of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.

Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
