Stephen J. "Steve" Brown, 60, of Dawsonville, died March 22, 2017.

Born July 6, 1956 in Phoenix City, Ala., to the late James and Nell Brown, he lived in Dawson County for more than 10 years, having moved from Olive Branch, Miss.

Steve grew up in McDonough, and retired from General Motors after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Trina Brown of Dawsonville; children, Crystal and B.J. McGowen of Southhaven, Miss., Dennis Brown, Michael Brown, Christopher Brown, all of Dawsonville, Tina Brown of Texas; grandsons, Austin McGowen, Derek McGowen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Jim Brasher of Rock Springs, Pam and Steve Lynn of McDonough; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Toni Brown of Chattanooga, Tenn.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. March 25 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Bottoms officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to TKO Sparklers, 1039 Dogwood Way, Dawsonville, GA 30534, to support special needs cheerleaders.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
