Spencer Turner, 51, of Cumming, died Sept. 23, 2013.

Born July 14, 1962, in Columbus, Ga., he had lived in Forsyth County for the past eight years. Mr. Turner was an engineer with Byers Engineering, specializing in communications. He had worked in many areas of the United States and the Virgin Islands.

His father, William R. "Bob" Turner, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Turner of Cumming; mother, Frances Turner of Social Circle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen Darrow and Marlene Turner of Newnan, Paul and Cheryl Turner of Social Circle; several stepchildren and grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Watson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to assist with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
