Selma P. Lowman, 80, of Gulf Shores, Ala., formerly of Dawsonville, died Sept. 9, 2017.
Born March 27, 1937 in Pickens County to the late Felton and Neilia Grogan, she lived a number of years in Hall County and Forest Park before moving to Dawson County.
Selma retired from the Dawson County Clerk of Courts office after several years of service and was formerly employed at Sweet-Orr for over 30 years. A member of Goshen Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jay Steven Lowman.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Catherine Lowman of Allendale, Mich., Russell and Sara Lowman of Gulf Shores, Lynn Steven and Kimberly Lowman of Watkinsville; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Walls, Opal Strickland, Patricia and Jim Logsdon; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Bennett, Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Russell Burt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
