Sara Cox Roper, 63, of Cumming, died May 24, 2012.
Born Aug. 20, 1948 in Dawson County to the late Wayne and Nellie Cox, she had lived in Forsyth County most of her life.
A homemaker, Sara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that devoted her life to her family.
She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
Her husband of 37 years, Herbert Roper; and a brother, Joe Lane Cox, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Rodney and Kelly Roper of Dawsonville, Kristi and Nathan Wehunt of Cumming; grandchildren, Spencer and Hayden Roper, Cooper and Jud Howard, Nellie Grace Wehunt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Hugh Smith, Deanna Mullinax, Judy and Lamar Roper, Fran and Ralph Gravitt, all of Cumming, Anita and Andrew Bearden of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy Cox, Douglas and Jane Cox, Greg and Kay Cox, all of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. May 26 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Vernie Worley, David Skinner and Wilson Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
