Sandra Kornewald
Obituaries

Sandra Kornewald, 75, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 5, 2018.

To all who knew her, Sandy was a remarkable and strong woman who positively influenced many lives, both young and old. She was a leader, a planner, an organizer and a motivator. She was fun loving and loyal.

She deeply loved her family, her community and her church and worked hard to support them. Being baptized in her home church in Decatur, Ill. was a highlight of Sandy’s life, and an event that she shared quite often.

When she and Dick married in 1982, she felt that her life was complete. She was a wonderful soul mate. Together they made the world around them a better place. Sandy organized, planned, motivated and remained a faithful follower to the end. She was an inspiration to us all.

Survivors include her loving husband Richard "Dick" Kornewald; children, John Linton(Lori), Monte Cater (Bonnie), Gary Cater, Michael Cater (Beverly); sisters, Carol Sorum (Roland), Sue Owens (Danny); brother, Mark Ketcherside ( Cheryl); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; various other relatives also survive.

A celebration of Sandra's life was held at 11 a.m. Nov. 10 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Sandra's name to the American Cancer Society or to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice or St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dahlonega.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
