Sandra J. Mulkey, 61, of Dawsonville, died June 5, 2013.

Born June 29, 1951 in DeKalb County to the late Alvin and Clara Mae Castleberry, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.

A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Mulkey was employed for many years as a quality control inspector for Panduit.

Sandra was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, her grandsons, Austin Day and Ricky Hughes; sisters, Sybil Blackwell, Shirley Glass; and brothers, Kenneth Castleberry and Willard Castleberry, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Mulkey of Dawsonville; children, Keith and DeAne Mulkey, Kim and Scott Day, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jordan Day, Nicole Mulkey, Philip Day, Mathew Hughes; brother and sister-in-law, Cletis and Veronia Castleberry of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. June 8 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Hamby, Steve Chadwick, Gary Keown and Chris White officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
