Ryan McSwain Browning, 22, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 18, 2011.

Born in Johnson City, Tenn., he was the son of Greg and Sandy Browning of Dawsonville.

His grandparents, Baldomero and Emma Garza, preceded him in death.

Ryan was a 2007 graduate of North Forsyth High School, where he lettered in football and track. He was a three year state qualifier in the hurdles.

He attended Georgia Southern University and worked at Red Robin.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Tyler Browning of Dawsonville; grandparents, Howard and Harriet Browning of Elizabethton, Tenn.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 22 at Browns Bridge Community Church. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
